Counselling services for professionals

Involvement of an experienced specialist (ieFK)

In the event of suspected child endangerment

In Germany, the term " insoweit erfahrene Fachkraft " is the legally defined term for the person providing counselling to assess the risk of endangerment in the event of suspected child endangerment (Section 8a and Section 8b SGB VIII).

"Persons who are professionally in contact with children or adolescents are entitled to counselling by an experienced professional when assessing a risk to the child's welfare in individual cases vis-à-vis the local youth welfare organisation."
(Section 8b para. 1 SGB VIII2)

The involvement of an experienced specialist serves to increase the certainty of action when making decisions on assistance and protective measures for professionals in

  • day care centres
  • schools
  • Independent youth welfare organisations
  • Professional secrecy organisations
  • Clubs and associations etc.

Advice is always provided on a case-by-case basis and is anonymised or pseudo-anonymised.
