Traditionally, both the lights of the Karl Marx Monument and the colourful chimney of the combined heat and power plant of utility company eins, the largest building in Saxony, are switched off for one hour.
The lights around the world will go out again from 8.30 pm on this day. During WWF Earth Hour, thousands of cities, communities and companies will switch off their lights for one hour, sending a strong signal for the protection of the earth.
WWF Earth Hour is the world's largest campaign for more climate and environmental protection. Millions of people around the world are taking part for the 20th time. In view of current climate developments, this is more necessary than ever.
Anyone who would also like to take part can find out more at www.wwf.de/earth-hour for news about the event as well as tips for your own Earth Hour.
