The Chemnitz sports event, where you can try out different sports and get involved, is entering its next phase
SPORTS UNITED brings people together through shared physical activity. During the 2025 Capital of Culture year, this event drew around 8,500 sports enthusiasts to the eins Stadium on Gellertstraße.
The Stadtsportbund Chemnitz e. V. and C³ Chemnitzer Veranstaltungszentren GmbH are organising a major and unique sports day on 5 September 2026 at the eins-Stadion on Gellertstraße, bringing together the diversity of the sporting scene. The aim is to bring sport to life in all its forms and to celebrate it; it serves as a unifying element for all sports enthusiasts and those who wish to become one. The ‘Sports Clubs Mile’, which has been a success for years, offers various clubs from Chemnitz and the surrounding area a platform to showcase themselves. In addition, twelve exciting activity tours encourage participants to try out different sports with like-minded people and strike up conversations. An entertaining programme at the eins-Stadion on Gellertstraße ensures an enjoyable experience even for those accompanying the participants.
The Stadtsportbund Chemnitz e. V., with an impressive 37,000 members, represents 85 clubs in Chemnitz, where people experience sport together and come together specifically through sporting activities – regardless of age, particular ability or fitness level. With such a wide range of activities on offer, the focus is on the sense of community, cross-sport interaction and the exchange between athletes, clubs and sports enthusiasts – all of which SPORTS UNITED will showcase in early September at the eins-Stadion on Gellertstraße.
