Playground on Gerhart-Hauptmann-Platz is completely finished

Southern play area can be used from 2 April

On Thursday, 2 April, the toddler play area on Gerhart-Hauptmann-Platz will be opened. This means that the playground can now be fully utilised.

The play equipment was designed following a competition on the theme of "Theatre World - Children's Play Stage" and the playground was divided into two play areas (north and south):

The north play area with the theme "On the stage" is intended for children aged 3 to 12. Play elements include a spotlight that can be climbed on, a play footbridge, balancing tracks, slide tower, double swing, double bar and wobble plate.

The south play area for the age group 0 to 5 years with the theme "Wardrobe" offers a sandy area with play equipment reminiscent of a stage dressing room. The elements included offer opportunities for climbing, sliding and exploring within the sand play area.

The northern play area for children aged 3 to 12 was opened at the beginning of February. Work on the southern area was completed at the beginning of March. The path surface has been stabilised so that the toddler area can now also be used.

The playground was closed at the beginning of March 2025 and extensively renovated. There were considerable delays during construction due to delivery difficulties on the part of the playground equipment manufacturer. Due to late deliveries and improper execution, the construction process was so severely hampered that even the landscaping work could not be carried out at first.

The construction costs totalled approx. 285,000 euros. The landscaping work was carried out by the construction company Fachcenter Garten from Hauptmannsgrün.
