The young future in the East
OstVision" youth conference on 8 October 2025
Under the motto "Stay or go? Prospects for young people in the East", the young people at the Garage Campus discussed their future in the region.
The conference was planned and realised by young people themselves. From April onwards, an organisational team of around 15 people met regularly to discuss content, formats, guests and public relations,
formats, guests and public relations, as well as the catering, stage programme and decorations. They designed flyers, created Instagram posts, made contacts and spent countless hours planning, laughing and trying things out.
The workshops led by young people met with a great response. Whether it was leisure activities, sport, city centre design or future opportunities through
training and studying - at Ostvision, concrete ideas for a future worth living in the East were collected, discussed and heard. In addition
Graffiti workshops and DIY areas (Do It Yourself) with screen printing and handicraft stations provided creative variety. Young people also took centre stage: Eva and Bea led through the programme, LennArt opened with music and the dancers from the Passion live dance school provided an energetic finale to the official part of the event.
The young people were not only listened to by each other, but also by guests from the Saxon state government: Petra Köpping, Minister of State for Social Affairs, Health and Social Cohesion, Susann Rüthrich, Children and Youth Commissioner of the Saxon state government, and Ines
Saborowski, Vice President of the Saxon State Parliament, attended the workshops, listened and discussed the feasibility of their ideas with the young people.

In the end, everyone agreed: young people need to be heard more. The OstVision youth conference, organised by young people for young people

A film documentary on OstVision is currently being produced, which will capture the perspectives of the young people and provide decision-makers with new impetus for positive change.
