Preventive work & baby guide - a powerful combination to support all (expectant) parents in Chemnitz
Baby guide
The first few weeks after the birth of a child are always exciting, overwhelming and emotional. There can be many questions and uncertainties during this time in particular. Familiar people are not always available to help and advise young families. The Chemnitz network can provide you with information about the various counselling and support services available from the start of pregnancy.

The baby guides work directly on the maternity wards at Chemnitz gGmbH Hospital and Chemnitz-Rabenstein DRK Hospital.
They want to help ensure that you are well informed and cared for during pregnancy and after the birth of your child so that you can start your family's everyday life.
The baby guides:
- advise you during pregnancy and after the birth on what support could be useful for you and are available to you as contact persons.
- inform you about the services for families in your district of Chemnitz.
- arrange initial contacts and can provide you with support if required
- support you with financial questions, health issues, contact and custody matters and all other topics that are important to you.

Chemnitz makes it easy - family services hand in hand
As modern service providers, the City of Chemnitz, the Saxony Family Benefits Office of the Federal Employment Agency, Chemnitz Hospital, Chemnitz-Rabenstein DRK Hospital and the Chemnitz Birth Centre want to make the applications associated with the birth simple and easy for you in a joint pilot project "Chemnitz makes it easy - family benefits hand in hand".
The aim of the pilot project is to ensure that you receive your child benefit from your family benefits office after the birth has been notarised by the Chemnitz registry office, that the second payment of maternity benefit is ordered quickly and easily and that a family pass is issued if the requirements are met. The welcome visit by the Preventive Labour team can also be applied for here. Our colleagues will be happy to advise you.
