Advance on maintenance

Single parents who do not receive any or regular maintenance from the other parent can apply for an advance on maintenance payments.

The Federal Government decided to amend the Maintenance Advance Act from 1 July 2017. This extends the age limit for children entitled to maintenance from 12 to 18 years. The limit of 72 months will no longer apply.
