The Chemnitz 2025 review in pictures

The successful Capital of Culture year for Chemnitz came to an end with an all-day programme including an official reception, Maker Advent in the Stadthalle, the European Mountain Parade in the city centre, Christmas carol singing on Theaterplatz, the "Feierabend" closing show and a rave on Brückenstraße.

Lord Mayor Sven Schulze travelled to Nova Gorica/Gorizia on 5 December for the official handover of the European Capital of Culture baton. At the public ceremony, he handed over the baton of the European Capital of Culture to Lauri Nikula from Oulu. The Finnish city is one of the two European Capitals of Culture next year, together with the city of Trenčín in Slovakia.
