Intercultural Weeks start on 20 September

Under the motto "Heimat im Herzen - Vielfalt in Chemnitz", the Intercultural Weeks in Chemnitz will start on 20 September - a two-week series of events that has been setting an example for peaceful and good coexistence in our city every year since 1991. It opens on Saturday at 12 noon with a colourful and intercultural programme on the market square.

Chemnitz 2025 as a driver of regional development

The Interministerial Working Group (IMAG) of the Saxon State Government for the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 has given an extremely positive interim assessment of the development of the city of Chemnitz and the Capital of Culture region in the title year to date. At the same time, it provided an outlook beyond 2025.

From 1 to 30 September, the focus will once again be on urban nature with numerous events such as excursions, lectures and bike tours.

Traffic restrictions due to "Light our Vision"

From Wednesday, 24 September to Saturday, 27 September, the Light Our Vision event will take place in the city centre on several action areas. For this reason, there will be road closures from 6 pm to midnight on each of these days and diversions will be indicated. The bus station will also be closed.

Feasibility study for sports and culture campus

At the end of May, the city of Chemnitz successfully completed the feasibility study for the planned sports and culture campus in the city centre. A compact short brochure summarises the key findings and results of the study and is now available for public download.

Acorns and chestnuts accepted in the wildlife enclosure

With the start of the autumn season, acorns and chestnuts are increasingly being collected again - often with the well-intentioned intention of supporting animals in the zoo. However, Chemnitz Zoo would like to point out that these fruits are not accepted in the zoo itself. The Oberrabenstein Wildlife Park, on the other hand, is very happy to accept acorns and chestnuts as donations.
