15 years of the public authority number 115

The nationwide public authority number 115 has been in existence for 15 years. Following a decision by the IT Planning Council, the nationwide 115 regular service was launched on 14 April 2011, and the Chemnitz Service Centre has been part of the 115 network since 1 February 2012.

Giant hogweed: Environment Agency asks for help

This year, the City of Chemnitz Environmental Agency is once again asking citizens to help combat so-called invasive neophytes. These are immigrant or introduced plant species that are spreading rapidly and displacing native plants. One particularly problematic plant is the giant hogweed.</p

Stollberger Straße: carriageway to be resurfaced

From Tuesday, 2 June, road damage will be repaired on Stollberger Straße between Neukirchner Straße and the access road to Meisenweg. The section is expected to be fully closed for around two weeks for this purpose.</p

Centre ring: main construction phase begins

Construction of the Chemnitz model (stage 4 Chemnitz - Limbach-Oberfrohna railway line) is entering the main phase. Workers are beginning to demolish the two old partial bridges at Falkeplatz (side towards Theaterstraße). Their new construction will take until the end of 2027. Until then, traffic (cars, public transport) will flow over a permanent bridge.
