On 26 November 2022, Mayor Michael Stötzer opened the new festival square in Euba as one of 17 public squares that will be implemented as part of the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025. The opening ceremony took place on the occasion of the traditional pyramid pushing and the Christmas market.

The fairground is 3,000 square metres in size and measures 50 by 60 metres with two access roads. The superstructure of the fairground area has been completed down to the top layer and a stand for the Christmas tree has been installed. Tree planting is also planned, with an approximately ten metre wide green strip between the street "Am Lehngut" and the fairground where trees will be planted.

The square was planned by the traffic and civil engineering department. The construction work was carried out by the municipal civil engineering department, with only specialist services such as ground improvement and the development of drinking water, electricity and waste water being outsourced.
