Authorisations for markets, trade fairs, exhibitions, public festivals, public events

You may require authorisations to hold such events. These depend on the type, location and time of the event.

Anyone intending to organise a public event can notify the competent authority.

When the market authorisation is granted, the applicant receives the market privileges.

Display of flying structures / distribution of alcoholic beverages and/or food

Temporary structures are structures that are suitable and intended to be repeatedly erected and dismantled at different locations, such as tents, stages, grandstands and fairground stands.

Before temporary structures are erected and put into use for the first time, they require a permit in accordance with Section 76 of the Saxon Building Code.

Anyone serving alcoholic beverages and/or prepared food for a special occasion must notify the authorities as a temporary catering business at least two weeks before the start (temporary catering business). This does not apply to holders of a travelling trade licence for the catering trade or owners of a restaurant.

Events that do not require authorisation or notification

Private events such as internal company and club parties, sports festivals in sports facilities, school parties, birthday parties and bachelor parties do not require authorisation or notification.

They are subject to the general provisions of noise protection and neighbourhood law. Where applicable, installations or activities may require authorisation or notification (temporary structures, bar).
