Children's and youth leisure programme
22 facilities are available as open centres in Chemnitz. The city of Chemnitz is funding these facilities with around 3 million euros in 2019.
In addition, there are currently 16 extracurricular youth education projects as part of open child and youth work, which are funded by the city of Chemnitz with around 1.54 million euros. The programmes are accessible to everyone without any prerequisites - depending on their interests or abilities.
The extracurricular youth education programme offers, for example
- environmental education programmes on current seasonal topics (e.g. migratory birds in autumn, mammals in winter, spring bloomers or microorganisms in ponds);
- Projects in the areas of science, technology and ecology (e.g. experiments in areas such as chemistry, physics, astronomy, meteorology);
- artistic and creative activities (e.g. ceramics, painting, other craft techniques, film-making);
- Opportunities to learn an instrument, participation in an orchestra;
- Theatre plays for different age groups;
- Experiential education and outdoor sports activities (e.g. skating, slackline);
- Educational programmes on the basics of healthy eating;
- media education;
as well as - political, societal and social education projects.
Konkordiapark
The leisure centre in Konkordiapark is aimed specifically at children aged 6 and over and young people. It has skating facilities, basketball stands, a parkour facility and a football pitch. >>moreNeighbourhood-specific offers
