Defect report of the city of Chemnitz

From now on, residents of Chemnitz can report defects that can be rectified by the City of Chemnitz via the citizen participation portal of the Free State of Saxony.

Ten predefined categories are available in the "defect reporter", in which the identified defect can be sent directly to the responsible department.

These categories are

  • Damage to traffic signs, bollards, railings, crash barriers and road markings (Traffic and Civil Engineering Office)
  • Damage to pavements (Traffic and Civil Engineering Department)
  • Dog waste bags missing (Parks Department)
  • Illegal waste dumping (Environmental Agency)
  • Deficiencies in construction site signage and safety (Traffic and Civil Engineering Office)
  • Damage to benches in public green spaces (Parks Department)
  • Damage to municipal playgrounds (Parks Department)
  • Blocked road drain (Traffic and Civil Engineering Office)
  • Road damage (Traffic and Civil Engineering Office)
  • Contamination of used textile containers (Environmental Agency)

If one of these situations is discovered in the city of Chemnitz, citizens can report the location, upload photos and describe the situation. The report can be made as a registered person in the portal or anonymously.

After registration in the portal, the report is not immediately visible, but is first checked editorially. It is then authorised and appears in the portal with the status "new". The further processing status can be tracked in the portal:

  • In process: registered in the responsible department
  • Completed: rectification completed or scheduled
  • Closed: unsuccessful, e.g. because the city of Chemnitz is not responsible
