The Insurance Office in the Social Welfare Office of the City of Chemnitz offers free assistance in social insurance matters (statutory pension, health, long-term care and accident insurance) for all insured persons who live in Chemnitz, are resident here or have their place of employment or work in Chemnitz.
The services in detail:
- Acceptance and forwarding of applications
for old-age pension, reduced earning capacity pension, surviving dependants' pension (widow's/widower's pension, half/full orphan's pension, child-raising pension), rehabilitation measures, account clarification (also in the context of pension equalisation), transfer of entitlements from a supplementary or special pension scheme in accordance with the AAÜG, provision of pension information or pension information
The above applications are recorded using the "eAntrag" programme. This enables the insurance office to record these applications electronically and forward them online to the pension insurance institution.
- Providing information on all social insurance matters (especially pension matters)
Among other things, information is provided on types of pension, the requirements for receiving a pension, the transition to a pension, insurance history, account clarification and pension notices.
- Information on obtaining pension insurance certificates, e.g. remuneration certificates
This will show you how to obtain the relevant pension insurance certificates, i.e. you will receive information (if the relevant information is available) on the whereabouts of wage documents from former companies in Karl-Marx-Stadt, so that you can request the relevant certificates.
Please note: The obligation to retain GDR wage records expired on 31 December 2011.
- Taking up appeals against notices from social insurance institutions, in particular against pension notices, also taking up other concerns and forwarding them
Support is provided in hearing, appeal and legal proceedings.
- Taking witness statements and affidavits to clarify insurance histories
Witness statements and affidavits in pension matters can be made for the record. Signatures under such declarations are notarised.
- Notarisation of copies of documents
Upon presentation of originals and corresponding copies, copies can be notarised free of charge for social security purposes.
- Provision of a comprehensive range of brochures
Brochures on various pension insurance topics are available from the pension insurance organisations.
Account clarification
Pensions can only be paid on time and in the correct amount if the pension insurance account is complete. From 1992 onwards, the data in the new federal states is entered electronically by the employer or the service providers (health insurance funds, employment offices/employment agency), but the data for the years before this is missing from the insurance histories.
In these cases, there are gaps in the insurance account. These and other gaps are closed as part of the account clarification process.
