Art competition for children
Call for participation in the art competition
"What Peace Means to Me" 2024 by Mayors for Peace

Since 2006, the city of Chemnitz has been a member of the Mayors for Peace initiative, which is committed to the abolition of nuclear weapons and lasting global peace.
In order to further promote peaceful coexistence in the minds of children in the member cities, Mayors for Peace is once again organising an art competition for children this year on the subject of "What Peace Means to Me". The current global political situation shows us that peace unfortunately cannot be taken for granted. Let us therefore set a good example together for a peaceful world.
Mayors for Peace called on schoolchildren between the ages of 6 and 15 to engage with the topic of "peace" and to creatively depict what peace means to them. The pictures could be handed in at Chemnitz City Hall up to and including 30 September 2024 or sent to the following address
City of Chemnitz
Division 09 - Department of European and International Relations, Protocol
Market 1
09111 Chemnitz
Participants must complete the City of Chemnitz Privacy Policy and the Mayors for Peace entry form (in English) and submit them together with the image. The conditions of participation for the competition and an information sheet on the General Data Protection Regulation can also be found here.
