Park railway

In the romantic Küchwald Park, in the centre of Chemnitz, railway enthusiasts can get to know two railway worlds at the same time. The park railway makes its rounds on the 600 mm gauge from March to October, while the garden railway can also be visited at weekends during the summer months.
Park railway

The little railway made its first rounds in 1954. Today, the little trains run on a 2.3 km long circuit with two stops and a railway station. Every year, more than 120,000 visitors travel on this attraction on rails, which is mainly operated by children and young people. A modern railway depot with locomotive and carriage shed, event rooms, café and large garden railway are among the attractions along the track.
A colourful programme of events is lovingly organised throughout the year. These include the Chemnitz Balloon Festival, the Fairytale Night, the Mascot Meeting and other events during the school holidays, on hiking days, children's birthdays and public holidays.
Railway enthusiasts should not miss the annual railway festival, at which all the vehicles of the park railway are used. In addition to the locomotives and carriages, there are also other highlights such as the rail trolley, the draisine and the rail moped.
