Final results of the elections on 20 September and 11 October
On 20 September 2020 and, as none of the candidates were able to secure the required absolute majority of votes in the first ballot, in a second ballot on 11 October 2020, the Lord Mayor of the City of Chemnitz was elected for the new term of office from 2020 to 2027 in a general, direct, free, equal and secret ballot.

City election committee determines final election result of the 2nd ballot of the mayoral election on 11 October 2020
At its meeting on 15 October 2020, the City Election Committee determined the final result of the 2nd ballot of the Lord Mayor election on 11 October 2020. With 31750 votes, the candidate Schulze, Peter Sven, received the most votes and was thus elected as the new Lord Mayor of the City of Chemnitz.

Sven Schulze elected new Lord Mayor of the City of Chemnitz
On 11 October 2020, at 7.32 p.m., Chief Electoral Officer Miko Runkel announced the provisional final result of the mayoral election in Chemnitz. According to the results, Sven Schulze received the most votes cast in the second ballot and has therefore been elected as the new Lord Mayor of the City of Chemnitz.The City Election Committee will determine the official final result of the election at its meeting on 15 October 2020, 10 a.m.
