Residents' meeting on 21 November 2024

On 21 November from 5 to 7 pm, all Chemnitz residents were invited to a residents' meeting in the town hall.

In the first part, Lord Mayor Sven Schulze and the mayors provided information on current developments and key projects, including

  • Outlook for the Capital of Culture year 2025
  • School network planning and digital pact schools
  • Public safety
  • Framework plan for the city centre
  • Neefestraße construction project
  • Forestry facilities, tree planting, living neighbourhood

Afterwards, from around 6 p.m., participants were able to address their concerns to the administration and the city's stakeholders and enter into dialogue. In addition to representatives of the City of Chemnitz, contact persons from the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 gGmbH, the waste disposal and city cleaning company as well as citizens' platforms and community activists were also available.

Residents' meetings will also be held in the city's neighbourhoods again in future. The next one is expected to take place on 10 April 2025 for the south-east of the city (Adelsberg, Erfenschlag, Harthau, Reichenhain) and the villages of Einsiedel and Kleinolbersdorf-Altenhain.
