Broadband expansion in the city of Chemnitz

As the needs of the modern information society increase, so do the demands on the availability and performance of data networks. The expansion of digital infrastructures is a central element of the Federal Government's Digital Agenda.
The aim of the City of Chemnitz is therefore to realise a significant improvement in the supply situation in accordance with the specifications of the federal government's broadband strategy.
The two expansion stages are intended to promote, increase and secure the quality of life and the foundations for the development of a digital society in the city of Chemnitz. Particularly in view of the shortage of skilled labour, this will increase the attractiveness of the region and maintain its competitiveness.
Small and medium-sized enterprises as well as industry will be provided with a modern, needs-based and, above all, future-proof internet supply. The citizens of the city of Chemnitz, the institutional facilities, the individual stages of the tourism value chain and their end customers will also benefit from a future-proof broadband supply.
