Susanne Altmann

Art historian in Dresden: Susanne Altmann studied art history, philosophy and history in Dresden and New York. As a curator and publicist, she has accompanied public art projects, including "Trichter" (2011) by Franka Hörnschemeyer. She was a jury member of the Dresden Art Commission, the BBR, the Kulturstiftung Sachsen and the Krupp Foundation Essen, among others. She has realised museum exhibitions in Nuremberg, Mannheim, Dresden and internationally.
Prof Else Gabriel

Professor of Fine Arts and Sculpture at the Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee: She studied stage and costume design at the Kunsthochschule in Dresden from 1982 to 1987. Else Gabriel was a co-founder of the performance-orientated artist group "Auto-Perforations-Artisten", which existed until 1991, and worked as a freelance artist.
Prof Karl Clauss Dietel

Form designer, Chemnitz: Prof. Karl Clauss Dietel was honoured for his life's work in 2014 with the Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany (the highest German award for design). In almost 60 years of work, he created an almost unmanageable oeuvre. His design work ranges from typewriters, radios, signets, product graphics, machines, vehicles and systems to architecture. User-friendliness and sustainability are particularly important to him. He taught at Burg Giebichenstein, among others, and was Vice President of the Association of Visual Artists from 1974 and its President from 1988 to 1990.
Matthias Flügge

Rector of the Dresden University of Fine Arts: Art historian Matthias Flügge was re-elected Rector of the Dresden University of Fine Arts in 2017 after five years in office. He previously worked as a freelancer for many years and also held senior positions in the art publishing industry. He became a member of the Berlin Academy of Arts in 1995 and was its Vice President from 1997 to 2006.
Stefan Leiste

Landscape architect, Chemnitz: Dipl.-Ing. Landscape architect Stefan Leiste has been working as a freelance landscape architect since 2008 and is the owner of sLandArt Landschaftsarchitektur in Chemnitz. He is a member of the Saxony Chamber of Architects and on the board of the Association of German Landscape Architects/Saxony. He has developed numerous public open spaces in Chemnitz, such as the redesign of Brühl Boulevard and Wilhelm-Külz-Platz.
Prof Jörg Steinbach

Professor of Surface Design, West Saxon University of Applied Sciences Zwickau, Faculty of Applied Arts Schneeberg: Jörg Steinbach is an artist and has also been a member of the Cultural Advisory Board of the City of Chemnitz since 2009 and a member of the Advisory Board for Fine Arts of the Cultural Foundation of the Free State of Saxony since 2011. Steinbach mainly designs artistic works for public spaces. He works in the fields of painting, graphics, installation and sculpture, among others.
Dr Frédéric Bußmann

General Director of the Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz (from May 2018) The art historian with a doctorate worked as a curator for the 19th century to the present at the Museum der bildenden Künste in Leipzig. He has gained extensive curatorial and academic experience in various major museums and institutions, including in an international context. He has previously worked in Berlin, Paris, Venice, New York and Munich.
Ferenc Csák

Head of Kulturbetrieb Chemnitz: Art historian Ferenc Csák worked as a government representative for the European Capital of Culture 2010 in Pécs, Hungary, and as State Secretary for Culture at the Ministry of Education and Culture in Hungary. He was Director General of the Hungarian National Gallery and has headed the Chemnitz Cultural Centre since July 2015. Today, he is also responsible for the city of Chemnitz's bid to become European Capital of Culture 2025.
