On Thursday, 8 May at 12.30 pm, Lord Mayor Sven Schulze will receive the President of the Republic of Estonia, Alar Karis, in the Green Salon of City Hall. Accompanied by a cultural and business delegation, the President will visit the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 and sign the Golden Book of the City of Chemnitz.
Representatives of the media are invited to sign the Golden Book.
The Estonian President will be visiting Saxony from 6 to 8 May 2025 with a cultural and business delegation and will open the art exhibition "Mirror in Mirror" in Dresden. This will showcase German and Estonian art and their connection to each other.
Another cultural exchange will take place on the subject of the European Capital of Culture. The Estonian city of Tartu was the European Capital of Culture in 2024 and is represented in the delegation by Mayor Umar Klaas.
After the working meeting in Chemnitz, which coincides with Europe Week, the delegation will visit other locations in Saxony.
