The association AIDS-Hilfe Chemnitz e.V. pursues exclusively and directly charitable purposes. It promotes public health and social services and welfare through
Free, anonymous and confidential counselling on HIV/Aids, other STIs (sexually transmitted infections) and other issues relating to sexual health. Counselling and support for people living with HIV/Aids and their relatives in coping with everyday life.
Sexual education and prevention for all people to promote sexual health and development at an early age.
Involvement of the target group in the association's work, in particular through cultural events organised by the association itself, such as benefit concerts, theatre and cabaret events, readings, exhibitions and themed dance performances, as well as through participation in such events.
Public relations and anti-discrimination work to reduce prejudice and increase acceptance by society.

The association actively supports socially disadvantaged people (e.g. prisoners, ex-prisoners, people with a history of migration, drug users, people who have experienced violence, etc.) who seek the support of the association.

The association represents the interests of people whose lives are directly or indirectly affected by HIV and AIDS and aims to offer them options for dealing with their problems. It represents their interests in public and at a political level.
