Relief for parents after the birth
Young parents in Chemnitz can now avoid travelling from authority to authority. They can obtain family benefits after the birth with just one form.
Child benefit, the second maternity benefit payment and the family pass can be applied for easily at the Chemnitz clinics and the Chemnitz Birth Centre, and the welcome visit by the Preventive Work team can also be applied for here at the same time.
This makes Chemnitz a nationwide pioneer and the second city after Hamburg to simplify the application process.
New, easy-to-understand combined application for family benefits
Parents can fill out the combined application form before the birth and hand it in at the maternity clinic with their documents. For births at the Chemnitz birth centre, hand in the combined application form with the birth announcement at the Chemnitz registry office. The institutions will take care of forwarding it to each other.
The necessary applications for the birth are simply linked together in the new combined application and save travelling from authority to authority.

- receive a family passport if the conditions for this are met,
