Entitlement to benefits

are entitled to benefits:

Children, adolescents and young adults,

  • who are entitled to benefits in accordance with SGB XII or the AsylbLG,
  • if they fulfil the further requirements described for each benefit.

The following benefits can be applied for with a "global application":

  • Excursions with the school or daycare centre (hiking days)
  • Lunch at school, after-school care centre or daycare centre
  • Participation in social and cultural life (leisure activities)

The following benefits can be applied for with a single "application":

  • Learning support (extra tuition)
  • School trips lasting several days or trips with the daycare centre
  • School transport

Benefits for personal school supplies are granted without an application ("ex officio").

Children, adolescents, young adults who

  • are not older than 25 years,
  • attend a day care centre or day care for children or a general school,
  • attend a vocational school and do not receive a training allowance,
  • take part in the communal lunchtime catering there and
  • are entitled to benefits in accordance with SGB XII or AsylbLG.

Amount of the benefit:
The costs of lunch are covered.

are entitled to:
Children, adolescents, young adults who

  • are not older than 25 years,
  • attend a general school,
  • attend a vocational school and do not receive a training allowance,
  • are entitled to benefits in accordance with SGB XII or AsylbLG.

Amount of the benefit:

The amounts are adjusted annually. The following applies in 2021:

  • EUR 51.50 for the 2nd half of the 2020/2021 school year
  • EUR 103.00 for the 1st half of the 2021/2022 school year

have a claim:
Pupils

  • who are not older than 25 years,
  • who attend a general or vocational school and do not receive a training allowance,
  • who are entitled to benefits in accordance with SGB XII or AsylbLG,
  • if the learning support is suitable and additionally necessary, i.e.
    • because the level of performance is not sufficient to achieve essential learning objectives and
    • this can be averted through learning support and
    • the shortfall in performance is not due to unexcused absences or persistent misbehaviour and
    • there are no suitable free learning support programmes available at the school.

A certificate from the school confirming the need for learning support is required (attached to the application form).

Amount of the benefit:
The need for learning support is determined on the basis of the certificate from the school.

are entitled to:
Children, adolescents, young adults who

  • are not older than 25 years,
  • attend a day care centre or day care for children or a general school,
  • attend a vocational school and do not receive a training allowance,
  • are entitled to benefits in accordance with SGB XII or AsylbLG.

Amount of the benefit:
This is based on the certificate from the school or day care centre.

are entitled to:
Children, adolescents, young adults who

  • are not older than 25 years,
  • attend a day-care centre or day-care facility for children or a general school,
  • attend a vocational school and do not receive a training allowance,
  • are entitled to benefits in accordance with SGB XII or AsylbLG.

Amount of the benefit:
This is based on the certificate from the school or day care centre.

are entitled to:

Children, adolescents and young adults

  • who are not older than 18 years and

the amount of the benefit:

Prerequisite is participation in at least one activity for which costs are incurred.
A requirement totalling 15 euros per month is taken into account for

  • Membership fees for sports, games, culture and socialising (e.g. sports club)
  • Lessons in artistic subjects (e.g. music school)
  • Guided cultural education activities (e.g. adult education centre courses)
  • Participation in camps (e.g. scouts, holiday camps).

have a claim:
Pupils

  • who attend a general or vocational school and do not receive a training allowance and
  • are entitled to benefits in accordance with SGB XII or AsylbLG,
  • if they are dependent on school transport and
  • no one else covers the costs.

Amount of the benefit:
The amount of the benefit is calculated individually and depends on the means of transport used and the amount of the benefit according to the statutes of the City of Chemnitz for school transport or according to the statutes of the ZVMS.
