Review - subsidised small projects in Chemnitz
The Culture Committee gave the go-ahead for the renewal of small project funding by approving the creation of a reserve fund for the second year in a row. From 1 March until 15 November 2022, applications for small project funding of up to 2,000 euros can be submitted on the service portal of the Free State of Saxony Office 24. The application process is completely digital and therefore a tool for uncomplicated project funding, especially for the realisation of spontaneous ideas.

Lives of famous composers
An event organised by the association "Soziale Rehabilitierung für Ausländer e. V."
The project aims to show Chemnitz as a multicultural city. The concert was attended by residents of Chemnitz with a migration background, locals and many new refugees from Ukraine. The event was dedicated to the life and work of three outstanding composers of their time.

The "Atomino im Wirkbau" festival took place from 31 August to 4 September 2022 to present the club's new home and collect the last pennies for the renovation. Over the 5 days, 5,500 visitors came to the Wirkbau Chemnitz.

KULTURseptember at Rabenstein Castle
Promoting the Oberrabenstein recreational area and inclusive participation.
The aim of the "KULTURseptembers am Schloss Rabenstein" was to break down any existing barriers to cultural offerings by concentrating beer garden concerts on the weekends of September 2022, to culturally enrich the Oberrabenstein recreational area and to get to know the needs of the public.

In the course of the final phase, post-production, a film score is now to be created for the short film. The Chemnitz Film Workshop is supporting and realising this project.

The festival is to be anchored as an integral part of the neighbourhood in the run-up to the Capital of Culture year 2025 and beyond.

Bring Da Truckaz
The eleventh edition of the international skateboard event "Bring Da Truckaz" took place from 12 to 14 August 2022 in Konkordiapark.
The event brings together skateboarders, families and sports enthusiasts over three days at Konkordiapark in Chemnitz. The event is the largest of its kind in the whole of Germany and therefore has an enormous reach.

Cultural garden
On 11 September 2022, a small, inconspicuous hillside garden in Chemnitz-Schönau was transformed into a venue for music and the end of summer.
The idea of organising an event in your own garden is not fundamentally new, according to Elias Schmidt, the initiator of the "Kulturgarten". However, the location of the garden, directly on the cycle path in Chemnitz-Schönau, made the idea of organising a kind of street music festival particularly appealing.
