Allotment garden
In Chemnitz there are 17,350 allotment gardens - also known as allotment gardens - in 212 allotment garden associations. The garden plots are not sold or rented out, but leased by the allotment garden association. This means that you have the right to use the allotment garden. The prerequisite is that you become a member of an allotment garden association.
You can find free gardens in your neighbourhood on the Internet, for example via the Chemnitz allotment garden federation or the Chemnitz-Land allotment garden federation. Or you can enquire directly at an allotment garden association. Once you have found a garden, become a member of the association and sign a tenancy agreement for the plot. This contract sets out the rights and obligations of the allotment garden regulations or the association's statutes.
In addition to the annual rent, an allotment garden also incurs further costs for association fees and ancillary costs such as electricity, water, insurance and rubbish collection. There may also be a one-off payment to the previous tenant for the pergola, plants, garden furniture and equipment. The maintenance of the garden and working hours for the garden community also require time.
