How Europe Week went in Chemnitz

Chemnitz is celebrating Europe from 6 to 10 May. Together with the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 gGmbH and other project partners, the city of Chemnitz offered a diverse programme. In addition to a twin city conference and the "Europe Sounds" concert series, a public panel discussion will also take place.

Capital of Culture Marathon on 18 May

Around 8,000 runners will be at the start of the Capital of Culture Marathon on 18 May. The running routes with various distances, which run through the city centre, the city park and the Küchwald forest, among other places, will be accompanied by extensive road closures and traffic restrictions.

Fake QR codes on parking ticket machines

In the past few days, stickers with fake QR codes have been found on some parking ticket machines in the city of Chemnitz. Anyone who has scanned such a code and entered data or paid a sum of money is asked to contact the police.
