The "Healthy Chemnitz" working group has set itself the goal of systematically bundling and further developing health promotion programmes and health-related activities, coordinating them as a whole and implementing them in a quality-assured manner.

Health can be influenced by both behavioural and situational prevention. Behavioural prevention approaches are effective, e.g. in the area of strengthening life skills, healthy eating or exercise concepts.

However, a healthy lifestyle can also be promoted by changing circumstances. One example is urban development measures, e.g. the design of outdoor facilities in urban areas to promote physical activity.

Ideas and suggestions?

All citizens of the city of Chemnitz are constantly invited to contact Anett Voigt with ideas and project proposals on the topics of "Growing up healthy", "Living and working healthy" and "Healthy in old age" and thus actively participate in the creation of a "Healthy Chemnitz".

The "Healthy Chemnitz" working group is made up of representatives from the:

  • Office for Health and Prevention
  • Citizens' Office
  • Green Space Office
  • Youth Welfare Office
  • City Planning Office
  • Sports Office
  • Environmental Agency
  • Health insurance companies
  • Contact and self-help
  • Adult education centre
  • City Sports Association
  • TU Chemnitz
  • independent organisations

Together, they have set themselves the goal of systematically bundling and further developing health promotion programmes and health-related activities, coordinating them as a whole and implementing them in a quality-assured manner.

Travelling exhibition "If pregnant, then zero"

The exhibition provides information about the serious consequences of alcohol consumption during pregnancy: foetal alcohol syndrome (FASD) is the name of the disease that affects people for the rest of their lives whose mothers drank alcohol during pregnancy. Unfortunately, this still often happens out of ignorance - one sip is enough to permanently damage or even destroy cells.

The exhibition allows pupils and professionals to experience the fascinating world of pregnancy. Here you can find more information about the travelling exhibition ZERO! with the walk-in uterus.

The exhibition will be on display from 2 December to 6 December 2024 at the Technical City Hall, Friedensplatz 1, 09111 Chemnitz. A booking for a visit to the exhibition is required and can be made at https://mitdenken.sachsen.de/-fw8P1Bt6
