Youth and education in the EU

The previous Lifelong Learning programmes (Erasmus, Comenius, Leonardo da Vinci, Grundtvig), international higher education (Erasmus Mundus, Tempus, Alfa, Edulink, bilateral programmes) and Youth in Action were merged at the beginning of this year under the new EU programme ERASMUS+. The areas of education and training, youth and sport are now organised along three key actions. These are the promotion of learning mobility for individuals, strategic partnerships and support for policy reform.

The European Studies programme at Chemnitz University of Technology

The Bachelor's degree programme in European Studies with a focus on cultural studies, social sciences or economics trains European experts. Due to the interdisciplinary nature of the programme, interdisciplinary European skills are taught in the fields of politics, economics, law, administration, history, social geography, linguistics and literature. Not least due to Chemnitz's geographical location, the focus is on Central and Eastern Europe.

Initiative Europastudien e. V.

As a specialist group of the European Studies programme at Chemnitz University of Technology, the student initiative provides student advice, networking and project work. Among other things, students receive support with their own project ideas and their realisation. The aim is to raise awareness of Central and Eastern Europe as well as Europe and the European Union outside of the degree programme.
