Climate Rally Chemnitz

What measures can reduce the heat on the station forecourt, provide more shade on Düsseldorfer Platz and make Chemnitz more resilient?
You can find out this and much more at the Climate Rally for Chemnitz. The rally comprises six stations where players learn more about the consequences of climate change and possible adaptation measures - through quiz questions, explanations and small tasks.
The climate rally is intended as an introduction to the topic of nature-based solutions (NbS) in sustainable urban planning. It can serve as a door opener for various topics, such as heat and heavy rainfall, climate change and health or green and blue infrastructures. Of course, the rally should also be fun and there should be plenty of exercise in the fresh air!
The rally aims to familiarise participants with and recognise good examples, problems and possible options for sustainable urban planning. It is particularly important to emphasise that sustainable urban planning is interdisciplinary and combines scientific and political elements and can therefore also be addressed in different subjects. During the rally, the players take on the role of an urban planner.
To start the rally, you can use the document "Climate Rally Chemnitz Handout for Families and Teachers", which explains the climate rally in detail and provides further suggestions for the topic. The QR code, which takes players directly to the rally, can be found in the "Rally procedure" section.
