Warning the population is an essential component of safety for the citizens of the City of Chemnitz.
The City of Chemnitz has several ways of informing the population quickly and comprehensively about dangerous situations:
Sirens
Sirens are installed at various locations throughout the city of Chemnitz. These can send both signalling tones and voice announcements.

The nationwide Modular Warning System (MoWaS) has been in place since 2001. To receive the warnings, you need the standardised nationwide warning app NINA.
