Coping with Alzheimer's and senile dementia in everyday life presents enormous challenges for sufferers, relatives and carers every day. A diagnosis of dementia brings major changes for affected families. Worries, fears and uncertainties place an additional burden on everyday life. This makes it all the more important to make society aware of the issue.

Social acceptance and inclusion of people with dementia increases the appreciation of those affected, relatives, carers and all people who have to deal with the issue on a regular basis.

DementiaNet_C will once again be organising an event to mark World Alzheimer's Day in 2024.

Dementia changes life from the ground up. For the person with the disease and their family, it is associated with many questions and great uncertainty. There are many hurdles to overcome.

The motto for World Alzheimer's Day 2024 is "Dementia - Together. Courageous. Living." to remind us that these challenges must be faced together - together as a family, together with friends, together as a society. People with dementia and their relatives face the changes day by day. They develop strategies to be able to live with the limitations. On both a small and large scale, it takes courage to accept life with dementia and not lose sight of the beautiful, positive things in life.

The message that DementiaNet_C wants to convey is to maintain a balance in the challenge of dealing with the disease and to allow for support.
