Development of the "Technopark" industrial estate, 2nd BA (brownfield redevelopment)
European Regional Development Fund (ERDF)
The buildings on the site of the former Konsum wholesale bakery on Rosenbergstrasse were built at the beginning of the 20th century and were very run-down and partially in a demolished state. With the demolition of these buildings and the disposal of the existing contaminated sites, land was created that could be sold and built on for the establishment of companies in the field of microsystems technology.
The development of the site via the former Güterbahnhofstraße, now Fraunhoferstraße, made it necessary to extend the road and at the same time extend all supply and disposal lines. The road extension provides the rear connection of the "Smart System Campus" industrial estate and the connection of the Technopark expansion areas to the public urban and supra-regional transport network.
Funding was provided by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Joint Task "Improvement of the Regional Economic Structure" (GRW).
