The four-storey building of the former nurses' home was built in 1949 in conjunction with the neighbouring building complex, which is now used as the "Marie-Juchacz-Haus" retirement home (formerly Max-Saupe-Heim) under the auspices of the AWO. Due to years of vacancy, the building, which was no longer needed, was in a dilapidated structural condition that did not allow it to be marketed or used commercially.

The project comprised the following services: The demolition of the building including the foundations, the removal of all paved paths, backfilling with uncontaminated soil and covering with approx. 10 - 20 cm of topsoil and finally the planting of the area with forest plants. With the removal of this eyesore, the residential area was further upgraded and the neighbouring military barracks are currently being converted to residential use.
