Local action plan
As these buildings have been vacant for a long time and are mostly run-down, new players and new impetus are needed to initiate the revitalisation measures in a gradual development process.
Initial/additional users must be identified who make it possible to generate income for the initial refurbishment measures and/or who support the reutilisation of the buildings through their own contribution or who in turn attract new users who bring in further/increased income that flows into the renewal measure. Building such partnerships and preparing a participatory revitalisation process that takes advantage of the opportunities offered by these vacant buildings is one of the network's priorities.
Route of Industrial Heritage
The factory complex was included in the Chemnitz Route of Industrial Heritage. An information board was produced with funding and erected next to the main access road.
Exhibition on the history of the site and the company
By means of a public appeal on the history of the site and the company, a lot of interesting information was collected from former employees of the large company in winter 2018 as the basis for a later exhibition.
