Chemnitz River

At the railway viaduct

The railway viaduct should actually have been demolished, but the citizens successfully campaigned to preserve it. Today, it has been thoroughly renovated and is an industrial monument. The area under the viaduct has been redesigned as an entrance to the city park.

Former Altchemnitz river baths

The area at the former Altchemnitz river baths will be a place where not only sunbathers will get their money's worth. The Chemnitz will be ecologically upgraded and new facilities will be created on both sides of the river for those seeking recreation.

North Park

Das Ufer an der Chemnitz, das im Bereich der Hauboldstraße bereits gut begehbar ist, wurde als Interventionsfläche Nordpark neu gestaltet.

Beach feeling by the river: The Chemnitz, which is already easily accessible in this area on Hauboldstraße, was designed as a small beach with sediments in a natural setting. Sun loungers and small tables were set up and some larger natural stones were added.

Heligoland

Auf der Fläche, auf der sich früher Kleingärten der Kleingartenanlage „Helgoland“ befanden, wurde zwischen Müller- und Eckstraße entlang des Chemnitzufers eine attraktive Wegeverbindung, die Interventionsfläche Helgoland geschaffen.

As a counterpart to the planned footbridge on Hauboldstrasse, an access to the water with large stones in the embankment has been created opposite in the area of the former Helgoland garden plot.
