NUMIC measure: Information boards

The measure

Three information boards were erected along the project route (at the beginning, middle and end), each covering one square metre and highlighting important points along the route to provide orientation. They also contain a general and a mobility-related text block to inform route users about the project.

The reasons:

Knowledge changes the way we see. Information boards have been set up as part of the NUMICO route to change our view of sustainable mobility in the long term. The information boards are intended to encourage users of the route to take a closer look and thus sensitise them to sustainable forms of mobility, but also to provide orientation, just like the cycle path signs. In addition, the information boards are intended to draw the attention of random route users to the project and thus attract new active participants. In addition to permanent information about the project, each board also contains a section providing information about a specific form of mobility. In this way, the boards complement each other thematically and present the entirety of the project.

The process:

The concept was designed by the NUMIC team. A draft text was then refined further and further and then passed on to graphic design and the maps were created. Finally, all publications are discussed with the Communications and Public Relations department. The signage company can then print and deliver everything. For the installation of the signs, the municipal building yard then requires so-called "Schachtscheine" from all utilities and communications companies. These are plans that show the building yard where lines, e.g. gas or fibre optic lines, are located and where they need to pay attention accordingly.

Costs:

approx. 2,000 Euro

Realisation period:

4 weeks text and graphic design,
1 week printing and delivery,
1 day assembly

Die Infotafeln dienen zur Information und Orientierung.
