Part of Zeisigwaldstraße from the corner of Bersarinstraße to Heinrich-Schütz-Straße was repaired over an area of around 243 square metres. Both the pavement and carriageway surface were renovated to enable pedestrians to use the road comfortably and safely.

In addition, two barrier-free crossings were installed on Bersarinstrasse and Zeisigwaldstrasse using tactile floor elements.

The reasons:

Potholes, bumps and other road damage are already annoying for car drivers - but for cyclists, pedestrians or wheelchair users, they can be a real obstacle or safety risk. Especially in unfavourable weather conditions or poor visibility, there is a risk of falling or endangering oneself and other road users through spontaneous evasive manoeuvres. The repair of the carriageway should therefore help to increase road safety for all road users. The barrier-free crossings also increase safety when crossing roads for people with disabilities.

The process:

The road repairs on Zeisigwaldstraße are not an exclusive NUMIC project, but a necessary renewal of the surface in the life of Zeisigwaldstraße by the Road and Bridge Maintenance, Building Yard and Hydraulic Engineering Department. Improved crossability of the Zeisigwaldstraße / Heinrich-Schütz-Straße junction was also discussed. Due to the buses travelling around the bend with their trailing curves, the decision was made to upgrade Zeisigwaldstraße in this area, which is very close to the existing road.

Costs:

58,700 euros

approx. 4 weeks
