Sexual health advice centre

You can contact the advice centre at the city's Department of Health and Prevention if you would like information or advice on HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections (STI).
The counselling services are anonymous and free of charge.

Services offered by the Office for Health and Prevention
Counselling and mediation
Counselling and HIV testing are available to all citizens. The HIV antibody test - free and anonymous - is useful from 6 weeks after a possible infection.
The test result can be collected after one week.
We provide information about infection risks and infection protection, about HIV infection, AIDS disease and treatment options as well as other sexually transmitted infections (STI).

We offer counselling
on sexual health, sexually transmitted infections (STI), coming out, body and health, protection and contraception, partner and sexual problems:
- All citizens (general population),
- Providers of sexual services in accordance with Section 19 of the Infection Protection Act (IfSG), free of charge and anonymously,
- Men who have sex with men
- Clients, people living with HIV/AIDS and/or sexually transmitted infections (STI), their relatives and friends
- Compulsory counselling in accordance with Section 10 of the Prostitutes Protection Act (ProstSchG)
Diagnostics and therapy
We are subject to medical confidentiality and all discussions are confidential.
There are various treatments for different infections such as HIV/Aids, syphilis, infectious liver infections or chlamydia/gonorrhoea.
Following a doctor's decision, extended free medical check-ups are available for men who have sex with men and providers of sexual services at the Office for Health and Prevention.
All persons with health insurance should consult a registered specialist if necessary.
Compulsory counselling in accordance with the Prostitution Protection Act
We offer all providers of sexual services who are mainly active in Chemnitz compulsory counselling in accordance with Section 10 of the Prostitution Protection Act (ProstSchG). These are free of charge, personalised and a prerequisite for registration with the public order office. It is necessary to make an appointment:
Prevention
We organise prevention events and sex education workshops in social institutions in the city of Chemnitz.

- Partnership and love
We are happy to customise our events to your individual needs.

- Young people (from year 7), adults
- Trainees, prospective medical, educational or socio-educational professionals

Major projects are carried out together with the Chemnitz Co-operation Association for Sexual Education.
We also organise training events for multipliers.
We provide information material on STIs, HIV/AIDS, sexuality, coming out, contraception and other topics.
