Donate blood

Donate blood - and save lives.
Around 15,000 blood donations are needed in Germany every day. The blood donation services of the German Red Cross cover around 80 per cent of the demand for blood donations in Germany.
The voluntary and unpaid blood donations help to save lives, because
- a blood reserve has a maximum shelf life of six weeks,
- Blood cannot be produced artificially and cannot be replaced by anything else,
- Blood reserves are necessary for emergency care, for cancer patients, for people with heart disease, for accident and disaster victims.
The Office for Health and Prevention of the City of Chemnitz therefore emphatically supports the request of the DRK Blood Donation Service Saxony, which calls on all healthy people aged between 18 and 68 - new donors up to 60 years - to support it:
Donate blood!
Because blood donation is always necessary, especially in times of crisis, to help the seriously ill and accident victims.
In principle, as during the flu season and the corona pandemic, you can donate if you feel healthy and fit.
We recommend that you regularly check this website or www.blutspende-nordost.de to see if there are any changes to the dates.
You can donate blood at any time during the current opening hours at the DRK-Blutspendedienst Nord-Ost gGmbH / Institut Chemnitz.
Address: Zeißigwaldstraße 130
Current blood donation dates can be found on the homepage of the DRK blood donation service:
