Environmental health protection

The Office for Health and Prevention fulfils environmental health protection tasks as a mandatory task of the municipality.
This includes protection against health hazards and harmful environmental influences as well as the promotion of a healthy living environment.
The Office for Health and Prevention provides confidential, anonymous and free counselling:
- Hospitals and other medical facilities
- Public communal facilities, places of accommodation
- publicly accessible sports facilities, camping and tent sites
- swimming pools and bathing areas, playgrounds
- Funeral and cemetery facilities
- Landfills and public conveniences
- urban land-use planning staff for quality assurance in terms of urban development hygiene and for planning applications for buildings with special protection requirements
- for medical problems relating to immission control - air pollution control and noise abatement
Public and private users can obtain advice on:
- Environmental medicine,
- Indoor air in living areas,
- disinfection and pest control,
- Fungal counselling and pollen count information,
- Drinking water monitoring and quality
