Chemnitz inclusive: Fields of action
Field of action Culture, sport, leisure
Our vision for Chemnitz 2030 is for all people to be able to participate in the city's social, cultural and sporting life on an equal footing and without barriers. They have access to the cultural offerings in Chemnitz and can actively contribute and utilise their creative, artistic and intellectual potential.
Inclusion is visible in the city's cultural profile, both in the offerings and programmes as well as in the active participation of people with disabilities. Inclusion is negotiated on the city's stages, and not just for its own community, but inclusively for and with each other.
The participation of everyone enriches our life together. Buildings and information are accessible without barriers. The employees of the city administration, leisure facilities, club boards and event organisers support this welcoming culture and strive to find individual solutions for different needs. Sports clubs are sensitised to diversity and create a lively club life that benefits from different abilities and strengths. They utilise forms of communication that make it possible to work together across impairments. This includes barrier-free websites as well as support for direct communication with hearing loops, sign language interpreters and other assistance systems.
Goals:
- Minimum standards and guidelines for the accessibility of cultural, sports and leisure facilities are developed and adopted
- The city's inclusive profile is reflected in its cultural and sporting events
- Develop guiding principles and align thinking and actions with them in an inclusive manner
- Sport for all
- People with disabilities are also welcome as tourists in Chemnitz
- Support services
