Mobility field of action
The personal mobility of people with disabilities is regulated in Article 20 of the UN CRPD and is therefore binding for a barrier-free environment in Chemnitz. Our vision is to ensure this mobility with the greatest possible independence and in the sense of a self-determined life for all Chemnitz residents by 2030. By 2030, equal use of public transport in Chemnitz is to be achieved for all people, regardless of disability - with a high level of mutual sensitivity on the part of all those involved.
Goals:
- Barrier-free participation in local public transport
- Creating accessibility on all streets and squares
- There are playgrounds with accessible play equipment in every neighbourhood
- Barrier-free public toilet facilities are easily accessible everywhere
- Establish and expand escort services on public transport
