SEKo 2020 urban development concept
The urban development concept - Chemnitz 2020 - is the City of Chemnitz's future action tool and sets the course for the city's overall development. Following intensive public participation, the priorities of the City of Chemnitz were set out in this concept. The SEKo urban development concept was adopted by the City Council on 4 November 2009 with several amendments.
Specialised concepts
The SEKo comprises the specialist concepts of urban development and monument preservation, housing, business and science, tourism and leisure, retail and local supply, green and open spaces, transport - 2015 transport development plan, environment, social infrastructure and finance.
Mission statement
The guiding principles are based on tradition, reflect the current situation and take on the challenges of the future. As part of the development of the urban development concept, 12 guidelines were derived from the sub-area plans and specialised concepts.
