Local transport plan
New version of the local transport plan for the Chemnitz sub-region adopted

The 4th update of the local transport plan (NVP) of the Zweckverband Verkehrsverbund Mittelsachsen (ZVMS) was confirmed by the Chemnitz State Directorate on 25 October 2021. The NVP, Chemnitz sub-region is thus legally binding. It was adopted by the City Council of Chemnitz on 17 March 2021.
With this update, the city of Chemnitz is consistently continuing the implementation of the "2017+ expanded network of services". The implementation of the Chemnitz model (stage 2, Chemnitz - Thalheim), the planning of further stages (central stop - Limbach-Oberfrohna) and the preparations for the expansion of the tram network are taken into account here.
The sections with targets for accessibility in local public transport and the quality of local transport services were reviewed and supplemented where necessary. In the coming years, tram routes, bus transport facilities and stops will also be modernised and new vehicles procured. The necessary investments were included in the NVP, thus creating the prerequisites for applying for funding. The review mandates and targets for the further development of the bus network (2020+ building blocks) and the light rail network (2030+ building blocks) have been tightened up. Various new points on digitalisation, electromobility, park-and-ride and bike-and-ride have been added.
