The content of the present draft for the VEP 2040 was developed in a co-creative process between the City of Chemnitz, a commissioned external expert and a round table.

In addition to the round table, six workshop discussions were held with other experts, whose suggestions were also taken into account in this draft of the VEP 2040.

Comments and suggestions from the public debate were also incorporated into the preparation of this draft of the VEP 2040.

Participation formats

The task of the Round Table is to actively support the process of updating the VEP 2040 by providing views and opinions on the topic of transport and mobility from the various perspectives of the interest groups concerned. It is made up of members of the political groups represented in the City Council, representatives of mobility providers and interest groups as well as representatives of Chemnitz City Council.

The round table meetings are moderated externally and are not open to the public. In order to ensure a trusting relationship, the participants have agreed on rules of behaviour in a working agreement.

The workshop discussions

In addition to the round table, six workshop discussions (WSG) were held with other experts from research, planning and business, whose suggestions were also taken into account in this draft of the VEP 2040.

The main topics of the workshop discussions, the group of participants and the most important results were presented to the City Council on 2 October 2019 as an information document.
